“Ye of little faith…” (The Gospels)
When Christ asked His hearers why they worry and gave them the examples of birds and grass as being cared for by God and then told them they are greater than birds and grass was He not addressing their lack of faith? Could He not have said unto them. Ye of little faith?” Could not the Logician in Christ have also said, “Ye of little logic?” Methinks definitely. Therefore, when, we as, Christ-ians discuss logic are we not discussing our Faith? Our faith that finds it’s support upon an Objective source and that Source being the Word of God? When, we as, Christ-ians discuss our faith are we not also discussing a logic that is based upon the Objective Source of God’s Word?
God’s Word is Objective because it does not respect persons. The Word of God stands for Holiness, Truth, Righteousness, Justice, and Goodness among other things, such as Honour. If a person finds themselves standing upon these graces then the Word of God is for them. If a person finds themselves going against these graces, the Word of God is against them. The Word of God will not defend a Christ-ian that does bad or change it’s stand upon all it’s graces. The Word of God will not defend a sinner who happens to do right either, this would betray it’s holiness. Morality and ethics may praise the sinners good deed, but Scripture does not promote the sinner to saint based upon what humans consider to be good.
The Word of God stands stong. None can stay the Word, nor can one stop the Word or alter or change the Word. The Word of God is Eternal, it is Everlasting, and it changes not. The Word of God is on no man’s side, man must be on the side of the Word of God. This is true of God, Himself. God is on no man’s side lest that man be on God’s side. God honours those that honour Him, but it is also true, “We love God because [H]e first loved us. My point is The Word of God is Objective and never subjective or subjected to feelings or opinions. Likewise, Logic, by definition, is objective and never subjective or subjected to feelings or opinions.
In Scripture when Christ or Paul or any other person argues for the faith they are arguing for the spirituality of logic. This is why the proverbial “backwoods” preacher makes more sense to the common man than does the scientifically so-called professor.
This is why God chooses, what the world considers, the weak, the base and the foolish to overwhelm and defy, and confound the wise. The wise is using worldly wisdom and often time subjective or presupposed ideas to make their foolish points and the God-edu-ma-cated saint can kkep up and even overtrhow the worldy wise. I know television portrays the Christ-ian as foolish, uneducated, ignorant, and hill-billies and the worldly and the opponents to God as wise. However, most television or film does not represent real or what is true to life.
In other words, Christ-ian do not be intimidated by the unbelieving smart persons in this world. We have faced off against the worldy wise many times and they are not an obstacle. They are the mountain that is moved by our logic or faith. We do not brag upon ourself. Any Christ-ian who looks into the Scriptures and learns how to defy the world’s wisdom can move what only appears to be a mountain. In Scripture we read that the mountains quake at the Word of God. While our sovereign God can make anything shake in His Presence and cause anyone to fall to their knees and then their face, He does not often shake mountains in our time. However the word of God is always current and contemporary. Today the mountains are prideful humans that seek to defy God, but those faithful and logical Christ-ians, who speak forth the Word of God, move these mountains by their logic and faith!!!
When I was very young I heard my parents say that anyone who goes up against the Jehovah’s Witness must better know their Bible. i grew up thinking the Jehovah’s witness were wrong but better at defending their views than others. Well studied Christ-ian reader, the J.W. is not an obstacle but something that will build your confidence in the abilities God has given you, given you to put forth the truth and rightness of your Christ-ian faith and prove J.W. wrong.
My point in this article is this: Any Christ-ian who is sound in the faith will be sound in logic. The Christ-ian who is sound in logic will find Scripture supporting your position.
The [Logos] of God became flesh so that the flesh may become spiritual and logical.
When one chooses fear and worry in the stead of faith and logic one fails themselves and God. According to the Book of Loder, Fear is about the current and present and worry is about the wake or effects of something bad. In either case, fear and worry is the wrong choice and choice it is. One chooses fear and worry over a godly faith and sound logic. How does worry help a situation? Christ asks us how worry can add to our stature in any way.
The answer is of course, worry helps in no way but hurts in every way. How does faith and logic hurt the situation? Faith and logic never hurt the situation but only and always helps it. Faith glorifies God, and give you experience in trials and hope grows. Logic helps you look at things from other view points and keeps nerves in control. Fear and worry call God’s sovereignty and goodness into question, this is never proper or acceptable. Fear and worry lead to questioning God’s Providence, God’s goodness, and God’s love. Concern that is under control can lead to an expression of faith and logical thought. Faith and logical thought will lead to honouring and glorifying God and a peace that is due to one’s trust in God’s goodness and love.
Reader, Live logic-ally and be full of Faith.
