“I Don’t Understand That…I Just Love Jesus” Or “That’s Too Deep For Me” Or “I’m Just Not A Reader”

“I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hither to ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able. For ye are carnal…  (Romans 3)

How many times have I heard a believer (maybe) say to me, ” That’s just to deep for me, I just love Jesus.”  For future reference, Reader, that offends me.  “I just love Jesus,”  that phrase is contemptable.  If a person “just loves Jesus” they would have their heads buried in the Scriptures and in books written by God’s faithful servants. IE. Dead men.  When the person says, “just” they think that gets them off the hook for not looking into the Word of God!!!

Reader, Remember, it was Peter that spoke of his great love for Christ just before he denied Him.  John saw that and for that reason (maybe), he calls himself, “the disciple whom Jesus Loved” in his Gospel.  Do you see the difference?  One should not brag upon one’s, “I just love Jesus.” In the stead of heaping glory upon one’s self, one should Glory in the Love wherewith Christ loved us and gave Himself for us.

Reader, I hope and trust that you are not a believer that thinks it’s “the pastor’s job” to feed you with spiritual meat. This type of believer is like a baby bird, ugly, skrawney, and lookng up for the mother bird to drop worms into the baby bird’s beak. I trust and hope that those who read these articles are the species of believers that want to look into the things of God in His Word and do not “Just love Jesus.”

What would one think if a person proclaimed love for another person, but is not interested in anything about the so-called be-loved? What If a boy/girl friend isn ‘t interested in the family of their be-loved? What if the b/g friend isn’t interested in the thoughts of their beloved? What if the b/g friend does not appreciate or respect all the plans that the beloved has?

Do you see where I’m going with this analogy?  If one loves another, one would be hyper interested and excited in all things of that beloved. That is how love works. Two (2) persons are really interested in each other and that loving interest (Blest by God) is a binding force.

So, if a person that “just loves Jesus;”  is serious about that love s/he would be lovingly interested in the Lovely Lord and His Word, Right?

There is no excuse for a believer to be Biblically ignorant. There is no reason for a believer to be shallow and it be accepted.

The Godhead commands two (2) things from us…Read your Bible with diligence and with a determined intention to learn. The second thing is pray.  It’s that simple; Read your Bible and Pray.

“I’m just not a reader” this tripe is unacceptable.  If one loves the Lord Jesus, would one not “search the Scriptures,” and find Christ? The answer is in the affirmative.

“The Bible is too deep for me, I just couldn’t understand it.”  This too, is unacceptable. What is really being said is “I don”t want to read the Bible, I have too many things to do.” The Catholics think this or rather, Many Catholics believe they cannot understand the Scriptures. These are in bondage to their priests for sure….”I was born a Catholic, I went to Catholic High School, so i’ll die a Catholic is a mantra of their very own.  Christ would say to them, “You will die in your sins.”

“What To Do, As A Church, When You Dislike Or Disagree With The Pastor” Or “How To And When To Remove A Faith-Leader” Or “Are You Certain You Are Not The Problem?

“Diotrephes, who loveth to have the preeminence…receiveth us not.”

Reader, We recently wrote an article about churches that persecute it’s pastor. In that article we also wrote that we would write on the subject of removing a pastor from a church.  I will not go into the details of a church’s constitution. We will address this matter from the spiritual side of things.

One must concede to the fact that there are some bad men in pulpits. These men are called, by Scripture, *Wolves in sheep’s clothing,  *False prophets,  *False teachers,  *Men crept in unawares,  *Enemies of the Cross of Christ,  *[M]en having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof,  *Waves foaming out their own shame  *(s)atan’s ministers  *false apostles  *deceitful workers.  This is not an exhaustive list but it should suffice us.

Reader, Whether it be good or bad, I am skeptical of every man in any office in any church upon first (1st) meeting him (Revelation 2).  I am told to try the spirits to see whether they be of God or not and so I do. It is true, (s)atan has his minisssssssters in many a church. There can be no doubt. But how can a church uncover this minisssssssssssssster of the serpent, (s)atan?

The Answer is simple.  One can uncover a false teacher by comparing his teachings with the Word of God. One could look at the family and if the family is disfunctional and the pastor does nothing about it, there is a problem. If you find that he has disqualified himself according to 1 Timothy 3, he should be dealt with swiftly and lovingly.

After writing the above, the church must make certain that the pastor is the problem and not a cliquish church or a church that has as it’s congregant’s, a number of large families, or is funded heavily by just a few.  The church must eliminate the possibility that someone within the church is not trying to usurp the pastorate or in other words, stage a coup, or in business terms, lead a hostile take-over.

This has been the case in very many churches. One (1) person or one (1) family is vying for the leadership of the church. This person or family can be likened unto Absolom, David’s son. Absolom manipulated the feelings and emotions of many of King David’s subjects. And there was an over-throw of the kingdom.  However, it ended with David on the throne and Absolom hanging from a tree by his hair and being stabbed to death. Also, remember, Judas who betrayed Christ. Judas ended up hanging himself, falling and his guts busted open. Remember Miriam, Moses’ sister. Miriam went against Mose and God struck her with leprosy.  Reader, this writer has seen two (2) men killed right after offending men of God.

Reader, the person or the family that is seeking to remove a pastor had better make certain that their intentions and motivations are pure and right and aligned with Scripture. Else they may be visited by a chastening God.  David would counsel you to, “touch not the LORD’s anointed.”

If a pastor is out of sorts with  1 Timothy 3, if a pastor is being irratic and acting out or has crossed moral or ethical line, he should be remove in accordance to the church’s constitution.  The church would be out of the will of God if they did not act.  But again, Make certain the pastor is the problem and someone or something else is not the problem.

“And As Jesus passed forth from thence, [H]e saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom…”  (Matthew 9)

I We recently heard a radio preacher speaking on Matthew, who was a tax collector.  This inspired me to write a short introduction to some of the men Christ called to, “Follow me.”  We will reintroduce you to some other familiar names that you may see in a different way or brighter and more inspiring light after this article. We trust this will be an encouragement to many and a truth that will cause you to hope.  We will point out some characteristics and traits of the men and women that have been changed by God’s grace.  We believe that many might identify with one (1) or more of these changed persons.  One will also see the power of Christ in bringing these persons into a peace-filled submission and rest.

Let’s begin:
*Matthew or Levi.  We see this man is a tax collector.  Matthew is a Jew, we know this because of his other name, Levi.  Matthew, the Gospel writer, was a betrayer to his jewish nation.  He worked for the hated Romans that occupied Israel.  Matthew would tax and over tax his own people in favour for the Romans!!!  In today’s political lingo, we would call Matthew a liberal and a leftist that works for the IRS. However, This man answered Christ’s call to “Follow me.” This man became the inspired writer of The Gospel according to Matthew.  Reader, even a liberal can be saved and transformed and many have. Never lose hope in a liberal friend or family member.

*John and James: These brothers must have been raised in a subjectivly minded family.  Christ calls the two (2) men, the sons of thunder.  Did their father have a thunderous temper?  The mother wanted to be certain that her boys would sit each one on either side of Christ in the kingdom….talk about a stage mother or alpha woman.  Even john and James, when they came a cross another that was casting out devils, in the Name of Christ, but did not travel in the same circle, forbid him.  John also wanted to call fire down from heaven and to destroy others.  These men answered Christ’s, “Follow [M]e. John became the disciple whom Jesus loved and the very apostle of love.  James gave his life for his love of Christ and church.  Christ can over power and subdue the emotional.

*Peter: This great man and great apostle of Christ and Leader of the Jewish Church had his flaws to be sure.  We do not point out these flaws to beat upon Peter as so many others find pleasuring.  We will point out these flaws to demonstrate that flaws…even great flaws can be overcome with the Spirit’s power. Peter was a man with a great temper, remember him trying to behead Malchus, one of the Roman centurian’s sent to arrest Christ?

Peter was a man with a srong personality and an opinion on many things.  When Christ asked the disciples a question, it is usually written, “Peter answered,”  or  “and Peter answering, said,”  or  “and Peter said.”  Peter was often rebuked for his readiness to speak up. Peter would say, “What about him”  when Christ was speaking or rebuking him.  Christ said to Peter, “Get thee behind [M]e, (s)atan.  Peter boasted about his love for Christ, only to deny him three (3) times AND he disbelieved Christ when Christ told him he would do so!!!  After Christ rose, there was a time when Peter decided to throw in the towel and go back to fishing.  Reader, Peter was a man of many flaws just like you and me. Reader, this profile on Peter picks up after Simon the Zealot.

*Simon the zealot: Another of Christ’s original twelve, was a terrorist that rebelled against the Roman occupier.  Even a terrorist or freedom fighter can find peace, rest, and the ability to love his enemies.  The quieting Spirit of Christ that can bring peace into the most irrate and rebellious heart of anyone.  Reader, Many Muslums and Muslum terrorist have been loved first (1st) by Christ and returned that love to Christ and Christ’s Church.  No one (1) can resist the grace and love of Christ when Christ says, “Follow [M]e.”

This is the paragragh that belongs with Peter’s profile. However, with all of these flaws, Peter, after being baptised and filled with the Holy Spirit became an altogether different man. Peter is one (1) of the earlist Trophies of Grace won by Christ.  peter would not be such an inspiration if he had not been first a flawed man.  This man Peter answered the call of Christ, “Follow [M]e.” and he stands as an inspiration to every believer and stands for the transforming power of God’s grace. Have no doubt on this matter.

*Mary Madalene: A harlot was completely changed into a woman of grace, meekness and a quiet spirit.  Mary stands as a truly transformed woman that demonstrates the power and grace of God.  When this writer was a young and God-fighting rebel, he spent time in a “gentleman’s” club. I made many friend with the woman in these clubs.  I rteally was the guy that went to find friendship more than any kind of sexual satisfaction and I say that before God.  Anyway, though I was in rebellion against God, I could not stop telling others of Christ.

There was one (1) dancer in particular that i be-friended…stricty platonic. I never took advantage of her fallen state, in terms of lap dances or anything else.  In fact, we would pretend to have lap dances and we would speak about the saving grace of Christ.  Reader, I lie not, I went into that club, after being absent for some time.  I asked about my friend and was told by another dancer, ” Oh! My G**, would you believe she found religion and quit!!!”  Reader, at the time of this writing this writer had goosebumps.  This was one (1) of the things that began to break down my rebellion….Reader, GOD IS GOoD, So GOoD!!!

*Rahab, the harlot:  This woman though transformed by God and installed in the hall of Faith in Hebrews eleven (11) is STILL CALLED THE HARLOT!!!  Why is this? Why does the Holy Spirit choose to call her a harlot or whore?  Again!!! it is to show the Condescending Grace of God. If you lived in the time of Rahab and lived in Jericho, you would have saw Rahab as a treasonous whore; a whore who is the betrayer of her nation and should be put to death.

You could think nothing else.  Yet!!! in God’s Holy and Righteous Eye, He names her as a great hero of our faith AND, AND, AND is in the geneology of our Lord Jesus!!!  O’ May God be praised for His mercy that chooses whom He will have mercy upon!!! Christ tells the religiously proud that many harlots will enter Heaven and they will not.

*Samson:  This is certainly one (1) of my very favourites among God’s Biblical saints.  If you lived during Samson’s time ans was a contemporary of Samson and was familiar with Samson, you would have considered him to be: an apostate and breaker of every vow that God put upon him, a womanizer, a fornicator, spoiled, arrogant, ruthless, blood-thisty, an abuser of animals, and a murderer. Yet, Reader, Samson, like Rahab has been installed in Hebrew’s Hall of Faith!!!  Reader, Samson is a perfect example of a man that has had God look upon his heart.

*Ruth:  Ruth is the descendent of Lot and his incestuos daughters.  YES!!! Reader, the daughter’s of Lot, made him drunk and raped him; they raped their own drunken father!!!  Ruth, the Moabitess comes from this line that began in incest AND, AND, AND is in the line of Christ’s geneology, too!!!  The Grace and Mercy of Christ be magnified in your heart and mind.

*Saul/Paul:  This man was a vehement and frothing enemy of the Lord Jesus. Saul dedicated his life to the arrest, tortue, and muder of Christ’s people.  Saul breathed hatred and seething incitement.  Saul was a pitbull of the Jewish temple. Saul was an Hebrew of the Hebrew and a Pharisee of the Pharisee. Everything Christ said to the Pharisees in Matthew 23 could probably have been said of Saul, except Saul would not die in his sins.

No man had anything on Saul of Tarsus. He was a Jew And a Roman citizen by birth.  This man had it all: the favour and respect of the powerful, an intelligence that could not be matched, he knew the right persons, he was not wanting for money. Saul was the man, there can be no doubt.

BUT, but, but…then he came face to Face with the Risen, Reigning and Ascended Christ.  On his way to Damascus, with all authority, was anticipating a time of Christ-ian persecution.  Nothing else mattered to Saul. Saul had tunnel vision.  Saul could smell and taste the blood of the Christ-ians, he was infected with a blood-lust.

As he traversed this Damascus Road, a great Light that was brighter than the desert’s noon day glarying and beating sun was about to change Saul’s life, mind, heart, direction, reason to live, and his very name.  Saul was about to become Paul. As this Light blinded Saul and through him from his horse, he heard, “Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou [M]e?”  and Saul answered, with quaking and stammering tongue, “Who art [T]hou, Lord?  To which Christ answered, “I am Jesus [W]hom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. Saul, then asked trembling and astoished, “Lord, what wilt [T]hou have me to do?”

Saul soon became Paul and became the leader, under Christ, of the Gentile Church.  Christ’s Gospel became, “my Gospel.”  Paul was transformed from a Christ-ian persecutor, torturer, and murderer into one (1) who, “endures all things for the elect’s sake.” and has encouraged Christ’s sainted soldiers down through the history of the Church of Christ, “…Endure hardness, as a a good soldier of Jesus Christ… that he may please [H]im [W]ho hath chosen him to be a soldier.”

Paul, who separated family members, promises us that there is nothing that can separate us from “the love of God in Christ.”  Paul tells us that Christ be for us, and “if God be for us, who can be against us?”  It is Paul that inspires us to “Standfast in the liberty wherewith Christ has made you free.”  “Be ye steadfast, always abounding in the work of the Lord…”  “After having done all, Stand.”

Paul, who was Saul and was a destroyer of Christ’s Church was transformed into Paul the founder of the Gentile Church, under Christ’s leadership and authority.

Reader, No person is beyond the hope of God’s salvation. The most vile the sinner is, may become the holiest of saints. The above proves it.  This is why we are to love our neighbors and enemies.  The radio preacher I heard said, “Thank God, He loves His enemies.”  I would be more precise and say, “Thank God, He loved many of His enemies.”

Reader, be careful how you treat sinners, you may be mistreating an elect of God.  Reader, Did you find someone to identify with?

“The Heart Of The [Pastor] Is In The Hand Of The LORD” Or “Touch Not The LORD’S Anointed” Or “The Church-Persecuted Pastor; And A Dire Warning To That Church; And To The Individual(s) Leading The Persecution Or The Coup”

“Who art thou, that judgest another man’s servant.”

“I will avenge…”  (GOD)

Reader,  The pastor is a gift to the church; a gift from God, “God gave some pastors…”  If you, Reader, do not look at your pastor and see a gift, there are a few possibilties to be considered:
*The pastor is an apostate or has not been called by God.
*You are the one (1) out of the will of God and worthy of a visitation by God’s chastening, see Korah and Miriam in Exodus.
*You see your pastor as being a wolf in sheep’s clothing and are very correct and you should pray and as God how to and when to act.
*You need to meet with the pastor and discuss what is going on.
*You are being influenced by another person’s gossip and backbiting.
*It may be time for you to depart from that church.
*Either the pastor is wrong or you are wrong.
*THe pastor has reuked you on an issue(s) and your pride cannot bear it.
*You are lost and the pastor knows it and you know he knows it.
*This pastor is different from the last pastor.
*You do not favour the preachers style of preaching.
*The pastor is preaching sound doctrine and you do not like it  because “it is not what I’ve been taught or how I was taught.”
*You do not like how the preacher talks.”
*You do not like how the pastor walks around or doesn’t walk around.
*The pastor spends to much time in the O.T or N.T.
*You do not like how the pastor reads the Bible.
*The pastor doesn’t preach loud enough/ Too loud/ too short/ too much, etc.
*The pastor doesn’t coddle you.”
*The pastor doesn’t appreciate you like the last pastor.
*The pastor knows you love the church more than you love Christ. You are a Church-ian more than a Christ-ian.
*The pastor does not practice the Lord’s Supper enough/too much.
*There have not been enough baptisms/ enough hands raised, enough money given.
*Too many familes are leaving.”
*Not enough families are joining.
*There is not enough focus given to…”
*Too much focus is given to…”
*The pastor has chosen a bad carpet color.
*I give a lot to the “church” and I should get more attention for that filthy lucre….I mean offering.”
*I bring a lot of visitors in, I should get more praise.”
*The pastor hasn’t thanked me even once for coming to church.
*The Pastor is to fat/skinny
*The Pastor’s wife is too skinny, too fat, colors her hair, Doesn’t color her hair, Doesn’t sing specials, doesn’t lead Bible studies, didn’t use the recipe I gave her, spends too much money on clothing, wears pants, hair is too short. too long, Did you hear what she said?  I’m just saying, did you see, hmmm, U huh, Yep, Doesn’t control her children, laughs to loud, doesn’t smile enough, works outside the home, etc. etc. etc…
*The pastor’s kids are too rowdy, too quiet, too fat, too skinny, hair is too long, hair is too short, talks too much, told my kid, s/he was not right, where’s shorts, where’s pants (if a girl) too, too, too, too………….

Reader, i could go on and on. I have been around A LONG enough time, I’m like the insurance company commercial, I know a thing or two (2) because I have seen a thing or two (2).  I have, by God’s grace been honoured and enabled to preach and teach the people and the persons, and the person of God for over twenty-three (23) years.

Many faith leaders do not like that word, authority and that is why their church is in the state they are.  Many church members do not like a pastor who accepts this authority from God and practices it.  Many pastor’s families do not like when a husband or father practice his pastoral/fatherly authority and authority as the head of the family. A man in authority is the arch-enemy of the backsliders and all rebels, even rebels in the church and family. This is part of what Christ meant by hating others, including family members.

This rebellion can take the shape of one (1), or many of the bullet points above.  It is the pastor’s charge from the third (3rd) Heaven, where God doth reside, to deal with this rebellion very quick and very fast.  It has been my long held belief that a man of God that lives under the Lordship and Authority of Christ, should expect to lose upto sixty (60%) percent of a church that calls him to be a new pastor.

This has been the experience of many pastors.  I would encourage any pastor that has, is, or will experience this.  What happened when Christ enterer the synogogue in Luke four (4)?  They chased Him out unto a precipice and tried to stone Him and throw Him off the precipice!!!  Pastor, You should expect this…maybe not literally, but know, within the hearts of many you have been stones and dispatched of the local precipice.
How many time was Paul’s life nearly extinguished, humanly speaking, (2 Corithians 11).  Stephen was killed after or before he finished his first (1st) message!!!

Many a blessed man of God has been betrayed by a flock, by a flock that has been shepherded for many years.  I’ve heard of a man that asked for a vote of confidence by a church. This precious man, that belongs to and is loved by Christ, and his family, wife and children, turned their backs to give the congregation the time to stand up or remain sitting.  Those that stood would be with the man of God; those that remained seated were against him.

The man of God heard chairs moving and justling.  After a few moments the house of God was silent.  The man of God; the man from God and his beloved family turned around and the church and the seats were EMPTY.  Reader, the entire church forsook this man and his family in a matter of minutes.  Boy o’ boy, how I would’ve liked to preach at that church the following Wednesday or Sunday.  I would (DV) preach that the judgement of God begins in the house of God.  That church would either be empty by the time I was finished or they would have been on their faces repenting before a disgusted God, and someone would have been on the phone re-calling their pastor back!!!

I know of a missionary, years ago, that wrote to their mission board and stated that their understanding of Scripture has changed (This happens very often in the mission field).  The missionary had come to understand that God is a sovereign God Who elects and chooses who will and will not be saved and that Christ died for the chosen alone.  This missionary assured the mission board that his fervancy for the Gospel and his charge from God has not changed. He has, and will continue to preach the Gospel to every creature.  The only difference now is that he knows there are those that WILL repent and believe.

The response from this hate-filled mission board was to drop this missionary and his family from any, all, and every, type of support from prayer to finacial.  This missionary and his blessed and beloved family LEFT EVERTHING BEHIND TO GO AND PREACH CHRIST. These “Christ-ian brethren” that have supported this family for years, completely TURNED THEIR BACKS ON THIS FAMILY AND DENIED THEM LOVE. Not only did this mission board send letters to supporting churches, they sent letters to other mission boards warning them and asking them NOT to support this missionary family if they were ever contacted for support!!!  Many other mission boards, that never supported this forsaken missionary family did, in fact, send a copy of this letter to as many churches as they could.

Reader if you are the type of believer that would turn you back upon another child of God and reveal, demon-strate, man-ifest the fact that you never loved that person, If you can take pleasure in denouncing another believer and making that believer the subject of gossip, backbiting and pleasuring your black, hardened heart….WOE, UNTO YOUWOE UNTO YOU, WOE UNTO YOU. I PRAY TO GOD THAT THOU BE VISITED BY A CHASTENING AND LOVING HEAVENLY FATHER THAT IS FULL OF LOVE FOR THAT BELIEVER YOU ARE HATING UPON AND WHO LOVES YOU TOO.

I have read and studied how the So-called church of God (catholic) has mistreated, tortured, killed, and burned the bones of the saints of God. This has happened in the Scriptures, after the Scriptures, in man’s history, in pre-modern times, and in contemporay times, and even today. I see how godless nations, today, RIGHT NOW, take pleasure in persecuting the saints of God.

These persecutions take the shape of imprisonments, torture, withholding food, beheading, boiling in acid, and other modes and means.  We should see this no differently than an earthly nation would see this, if another nation was persecuting a citizen of their very own country.  We, the Citizens of Heaven, should look upon the persecution of a brother or sister in Christ, in the exacting, parelleling manner as the United States of America would see a citizen of these United States being persecuted by a godless nation. There is no difference.

Here is where this writer puts you into a corner.  If you go against or persecute or lay hands upon the LORD’s anointed, or a man of God for some carnal reason and for any reason listed above, other than a pastor that has disqualified himself, YOU! You! You! are as guilty as the godless nation that pleasures in persecutiong a Person of God and of persecuting CHRIST HIMSELF…”Saul, Saul, Why persecutest thou [M]e?

Do we say these things with anger?  It is certain, we do.  This is what anger should be used for, to change something from a negative into a positive.  Do I write these things without love in my heart, it is to the vary contary that I write these words.  I write these words with a pure, righteous and beating heart filled with love; love for pastors, love for the pastor’s famiies, love for the church, AND LOVE FOR THE ONE (1) BEING REBUKED, and ABOVE ALL, LOVE FOR MY MASTER.

Reader, with the world’s assault upon the Godhead, the church, morality, ethics, and all things good, true, and right;  We must not war with each other. There will be differences of thoughts between believers, there should be no doubt. But these differing thoughts, as long as they are not an attack upon the cardinal doctrines of Scripture, should not cause divisions or schisms or church splits…God forbid.

What I am about to write I write in all soberness, gravity, and love. What I am about to write before the Godhead, before the church of God, before my family, before my friends, before all who love me and all who choose to hate me: This writer, this pastor, this preacher, this husband, this father, this son, this brother, this nephew, this uncle, this friend, this neighbor; We turn any persecuting believer of a child of God, for whom Christ died, and any person still dead in trespasses and sins, or yet lost, unto (s)atan, that the flesh may suffer and the soul may be saved. It is a high crime to touch the LORD’s anointed.  I have seen two (2) persons killed for going against a man of God.

Reader, if this article, this warning, this “prophet’s WOE” speaks to you or moves you or convicts your spirit, PLEASE!!! FOR YOUR SAKE, REPENT BEFORE GOD RIGHT NOW.  If the Christ-ian you are persecuting feels this persecution, GO TO THEM SEEKING CHRIST-IAN FORGIVENESS AND SEEK TO RIGHT ANY WRONGS YOU HAVE COMMITTED AGAINST THAT SAINT THAT FINDS GOD”S GRACIOUS FAVOUR.

Godspeed.

P.S. God willing, in the very, very, near future, we will write upon the responsibility of the church; the Body of Christ, to cast a fallen or apostate faith-leader from the church.

“He Said, She Said” Or “Liar, Liar Pants on Fire” Or “A Defense For Sanctified Lying”

“…he came in unto me, and I cried with a loud voice: And it came to pass, when he heard that i lifted up my voice and cried, that he left his garment with me, and fled, and got him out.”  (Genesis 39)

What do you do when you have to decide who is not telling the truth or how can you decide who is lying?

*First, one must remain fair minded and have an unbiased desire and a determinationfor the truth.

*One cannot, should not, must not have respect of persons in judging what the truth is.

*Who has more to gain by lying or who has more to lose not to lie. This is not always easy to decide. In the above passage, the Pharoah’s wife had a great deal to lose if her unfaithful behaviour were uncovered by the truth.  Joseph would have every reason to lie if he had attempted to rape the Pharoah’s wife.  So, it would be wise to wait until more information comes to light. One should remain neutral if data is not available.

*Who has more to lose and who has more to gain by doing something risky, in this case, sleeping with a person under your power and control or raping the Pharoah’s wife.  The Pharoah’s wife was used to having her desires met and she may have been used to controling other servants under her authority, therefore it would not be out of the question for her to make advances toward Joesph.

*On the other hand, would it be out of character for Joseph to assault a woman? especially his ruler’s wife?  Joseph, if he were a predator, would have assaulted a woman he could control and not someone in control of him, he would also have a reputation for aggression toward women before he would have attempted to assault a woman in the royal estates of Pharoah’s wife. Joseph would have much to lose by assaulting Mrs. Pharoah and it would be out of character for Joseph to assault a woman based upon what we know of him.

*Body language like rapidly blinking one’s eyes, eyes looking down, touching the face, running a hand through one’s hair, giggling, voice pitch, and quickening one’s speech can all indicate deceit, lying, deception.  However, a good liar can look you straight in the eyes and lie with out guilt or remorse.

*Does the person in question have a history of lying, bending the truth, playing loose with the truth? or is this person a person of integrity, and normally forthright?

The above are practical and logical means of deducing who is lying and if a person is lying to you.  However, as we said above, a good liar can lie with no tells or gives. Many liars will mix just enough truth with a lie to make it plausable and even compelling; a good liar will transfix you into wanting to believe, just like (s)atan with Eve in the garden.  (s)atan is the father of lies and all liars and all unsaved persons lie and Christ-ians do too.

Is it ever acceptable for a Christ-ian to lie? The patent answer is of course, No, Never….ever, but as with many patent, tired, and stale answers that faith leaders will give, their answer in the negative, is wrong.  In fact, in Scripture there are situations when God blest the lie of honest and honourable persons. In some situation it is honourable to lie.

Some examples:
*The Hebrew mid-wives, in the Book of Genesis, lied to the Pharoah in order to save the lives of male babies: The Hebrew midwives lied and what did God think of the lying mid-wives?  “…God dealt well with the midwives: and the people multiplied, and waxed very mighty. And it came to pass, because the midwives feared God, that [H]e made them houses.”

*Rahab, lied to the authorities:  “And the women took the two men, and hid them, and said thus, There came men unto me, but I wist not whence they were.” ( Joshua chapter two (2) )  Rahab is mentioned in Hebrews as a person of faith.

*Samuel was given a cover story from God Himself:  “And the LORD said unto Samuel, How long wilt thou mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? fill thine horn with oil, and go, I will send thee to Jesse the Beth-lehemite: for I have provided [M]e a king among his sons. And Samuel said, How can I go? if Saul hear it, he will kill me. And the LORD said, Take an heifer with thee, and say, I am come to sacrifice to the LORD.”  (1 Samuel 16).

*Christ HimSelf with-held His identity and His Person: “And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus [H]imself drew near, and went with them. But their eyes were holden that they should not know [H]im….And they drew nigh unto the village, whither they went: and [H]e made as though [H]e would have gone farther…”

*Lord Jesus disguised Himself:  “…then went [H]e also up unto the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret” (John 7).

Reader, i am not saying or condoning lying; No, not at all.  But we can see from Scripture there are situations and circumstances when it is honourable and honoured by God Himself, to lie or deceive. The criteia of this dynamic is this:  The Christ-ian cannot, and may not lie to cover one’s indiscretions, mistakes, accidents, sin and sins.

In summary: One can, may, could, would, should deceive and lie with honour and purity with in one’s heart.

Godspeed.

“The Holy Spirit Is Equally Sovereign To The Father And The Son” Or “The Temperment Of The Holy Ghost” Or “Christ Says, Love Your Enemy; And The Holy Ghost Kills His Quick and Fast” Or “Another Grown-Up Doctrine”

“The wind bloweth where it listeth…”

“…the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as [H]e will.”  (1 Corinthians 12)

“But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost…And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost…Then fell [Sapphira] down straight way at his feet and yielded up the ghost…”  (Acts 5)

“Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. And whosoever speaketh a word against the Holy Ghost, shall not be forgiven unto men. And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.”  (Matthew 12)

Reader, we are not teaching anything that is Anti-Trinity, rest assured in that. We would die before speaking against the doctrine of the Tri-une Godhead. With that said, it is clear that the Holy Spirit has a temperment All His Own.  It is the fool that messes with the Holy Ghost.  Please note that in this context, the Third (3rd) Person of the Godhead is called Holy Ghost and not Holy Spirit.  We cannot be dogmatic on this thought but is He called the Holy Spirit when He is pleased and called the Holy Ghost when He is not? I know not the answer to that question.

Reader, Paul, when on his missionary journeys, he would map out his plan.  BUT in two (2) cases that are recorded, The Holy Ghost told Paul not to go where he was planning to go. One might think about the souls in the lands that Paul was forbidden to go. Remember beloved, God is Sovereign over HIS Salvation and is free to gift that Salvation to whom He will (John 5); And  also,  “I will have mercy upon whom I will have mercy…”  (Romans 9).  Salvation belongs to God and He may do with it as He pleases, understand that and you will understand a great attribute of God and You will see God in a much greater aspect.

In the third (3rd) passage above, we find a husband and wife team pretending to give all their money to the church, when in fact, they held some money back.  Holding their money back was their right, but pretending or rather LYING about their offering offende the Holy Ghost greatly and what did the Holy Ghost do?  The same thing He did when Uzzah touched the Arc of the Covenant; The Holy and Sovereign Ghost of Christ killed them!!!  He did so as to set forth an example to all believers;  the example is meant to teach us, DO NOT TRY THE HOLY GHOST.  We are told to test the spirits, but beloved, DO NOT TEST OR TEMPT THE HOLY GHOST.

It was the Holy Spirit that came upon Samson and gave him the strength to destroy God’s enemies.  It was the Holy Spirit that was given David and David, with the power of the Holty Spirit upon him, he killed a lion and a bear and jumped a wall….David was every bit Samson’s equal.  The Selfsame Spirit came upon both and strengthened both in likewise manner.  Did you just learn something new?  Give God Glory and praise for teaching us and revealing His Great Glory with us.

The charismatic people put much focus upon the Holy Ghost, but just as many persons believe in an unScriptural Christ, likewise the Charismatics believe in and have affection for a ghost that is not the Holy Ghost.

These carnal believers pretend to speak in tongues (there are books and tapes one can learn from…silliness and nonsense), they work each other up into a frenzy, they are “slain in the Spirit” and even bark like dogs as some unholy ghost “fills them.” Most of the time, the tongue talker, usually a women, an alpha woman, will speak in tongues. I can interpret what she is babbling and that is, “Look at me, Look at me, Look at me and put me on a pedestal… hurry up and prop me up on a pedestal….”  that is the interpretation of most female tongue talkers, I lie not.  This type of crazy person also would write poems and speak as Christ in the first Person.  Reader, I know these types, I can spot them a mile away….lots of jewelry, they where lots of jewelry, profiled they are.

Reader, be certain to give the Holy Spirit His due attention.  If you can grasp this next statement, your life will be changed:  What Christ was/is to the disciples, the Holy Spirit is to you and me or could be, if you would get out of His Way.

In summary: The Holy Ghost is Co-Equel in the Godhead. The Holy Ghost is Lord,  the Holy Ghost is Sovereign,  the Holy Ghost loves you with a deadly jealousy, find comfort in His Divinely Tempermental Jealousy over you.

“Fun Ends And Happy Feelings Dry Up” Or “Where Doth Your Joy Abide?” Or “How To EnJOY Your Life And Your God”

“…the joy of the LORD is your strength.

Reader, I will confess, I enJOY horror movies.  The “Halloween” franchise is my favourite franchise. There will be (DV) a new addition to the franchise.  I’m Excited about the scary movie.  But when the movie is over, the movie is over. The fun that will be had (DV) will be done, over, finished, no more, gone forever, and passed. That, beloved Reader, is the fun and “happiness” that sinners have. Fun and done…now what? That is their pitiful and experiential life. The Christ-ian However…

The Christ-ian experiences peace that passeth all understanding; The Christ-ian has the Joy of the LORD which is his strength. The Christ-ian is the blessed man; he is like David who delights in the LORD and he meditates upon the LORD’S law, as he is running and managing the kingdom of Israel. Yes, Reader, Christ-ian joy is pervasive, persevering, powerful, precious AND PECULIAR TO THE Christ-ian. The sinner knows nothing of it.

What the Glory of God is to Himself is the same with our faith and joy. God’s Intrinsic Glory is God’s Power and Faith and Joy is our power.  Therefore, You and i must defend our God-gifted faith and joy to the death.  God does not share His Glory with another; Neither shall we give over our faith and joy for no one and nothing. The Joy of the LORD is how we can enJOY God.

In closing, Keep the Faith and the Joy, it is your strength.

Godspeed.

“God Does Not Love Everyone” Or “A Grown Up Doctrine…We Are Not In VBS Anymore” Or “If God Loves All, Then God Sends Some Of Those He Loves To Hell…So,Why Are You So Confident In His Love?”

“For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee. The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity.”                                                                                                                                               (Psalm 5)

“As it is written, Jacob have I loved but Esau have I hated.”  (Romans 9)

“Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life. Fear not I am with thee….                                                                                                                                             (Isaiah 43)

Reader, Examine the above Passages and familiarize yourself with them.  The first passage cannot be more clear, God hates workers of iniquity period. These are those that will not believe.  In the second (2nd) passage it is as clear as the Chrystal sea in Heaven God chose to love Jacob and God Chose to hate Esau.  Before this verse, Paul writes that God decided to love Jacob and hate Eaua BEFORE they were born so that ELECTION MIGHT STAND.  Reader, If God elects some….many, that means He chose to pass over others.  Reader, i don’t know what you have been taught, but what you have just read is sound doctrine straight from the Word of God and not from a man.

God loves His chosen, His elect, His jewels. And God hates the workers of iniquity or those that have not been chosen to be redeemed by Christ.  You may think as a carnal sinner and say, “that’s not fair.”  Reader, if this is you, know this….you take the sinner’s side over God’s.  You have a choice and you think the sinner has a choice, but you deny God His Free Will Choice… I understand, these are doctrines that you may have never heard before, But Reader, This is the teaching of God.  Take a concordance and look up each time the word elect is written. The doctrine of election is almost on every page of Scripture in one (1) way or another.

I was inspired by one (1) of my daughters to write this article.  My daughter wrote a school paper on the fact that God does NOT love everybody. Her teacher did not speak against this essay…good for him; methinks he knows the truth that others are blinded to….not only does God not love everyone, He hates those He does not love.  My daughter (so proud) shared this doctrine with her friends and they were shocked. They had never heard such a thing….God doesn’t love every one? This is what everyone believes, even SINNERS. CHRIST-IANS, SINNERS WHO HATE GOD AND REBEL AGAINST HIM THINKS GOD LOVES THEM!!!  and so do YOU if you deny the doctrine of election.

I know what you are thinking……” God tells us to love our enemies, so how can He tell us to love enemies, if HE HATES them?”  Reader, Biblical love is not what you think it is.  Biblical love has nothing to do with affection or feeling.  It has everything to do with being kind, it is praying for those that think little of you, it is blessing those that curse you, it is doing good to them that hate you, or OVERCOMING evil with good…OVERCOMING as in gaining victory over.  Reader, we are the children of the Highest and Holiest AND the siblings of the Christ , Who is not ashamed to call us brethren…we are above the world’s way of thinking. We do not reward evil with evil…..God Forbid….NEVER……we OVERCOME evil with GOoD.

Reader, if you must insist upon God loving everyone, then you must disagree with Christ when He told the Pharisees that they would die in their sin. If you insist upon God loving everone, then you are saying God will cast some of those He loves into Hell….don’t say, “No! it’s the sinner’s choice to go to Hell….Christ-ian!!! God sends persons to Hell AND it’s decided before they are born….remember Jacob and Esau??? AND if you insist upon God loving everyone and conceding then that He will cast some of those He loves into Hell, Why are YOU so confident in you salvation. A syllogism to clarify:
*God casts some of His beloved into Hell for all eternity.
* You are one (1) of His beloved.
*Therefore, you may be cast into Hell.

Do you now see?  God chooses whom He will love, God is completely free and just in this choosing. Christ died specifically, personally, peculiarly, and Substitutionally ONLY FOR THOSE HE CHOSE TO LOVE and not for those that will be cast to Hell.  Reader, we are told by John that God loved us before we loved Him….what does that mean for those that do not love God?  Are you catching on?   Sinners do not reject Christ….Christ rejected them first (1st).

If you choose to continue to believe God loves everyone, you goagainst Scripture and the God Who inspired those Scriptures.  In the Book of Joshua, it is written that God lead the Cannanites into a war with Israel for the sole purpose of UTTERLY DESTROYING them. Samson fell in love with a Philistine woman so that God would have an occasion to come against the Philistines and Samson would be the start of God’s deliverance of Israel from the Philitine occupation.  Did God love those that Samson killed?

Did God love the Cannanites?  Did God love the Hittites, Jebusites,  Did God love the Edomites, the descendents of the hated Esau? No He did not, Malachai spells it out clearly, God hate Esau and God hated Esau’s descendents, the Edomites.  Do you really think God loved the Pharisee, who saw to the death of His Only Begotten Son? OF COURSE NOT, READER, THAT IS THE ANSWER. The Third (3rd) passage from above speaks to the fact that God killed societies, tribes, nations, groups so that Israel (and the Church) would prosper; Reader, did God love those that were killed for the sake of Israel and the spiritual Israel, the Church?

Christ told the Pharisees, point blank, that they would be the means of His death, He told them that the love of God was not in them, He told them that they were not among His sheep and then He told them they would die in their sin. Did God love the Pharisee that murdered His Son?

This doctrine should not be looked upon as a hard doctrine or an unfair doctrine. God owes no one anything. The fact that He chooses to save some speaks to His Grace and Mercy. God is not unkind to those He hates for they want nothing to do with Him; Heaven would be Hell for them.  Do you imagine a Christ-hating sinner being in Heaven and singing praises unto Him? Reader, you are no longer a child in VBS. You are a grown- up.

The solid and heavy doctrine of Election is a grown-up doctrine. It is a fundamental doctrine, and it is a foundational doctrine. If one goes wrong with the doctrine of election, all his theological positions will be faulty and founded upon sinking sand. Those who deny the doctrine of Election are those that have not read their Bibles; they are those who were told what the Bible says and that was good enough for them.

“The Christ-ian’s Peace” Or ” How To Get, Have, And Maintain Peace” Or “Peace Should Be More Than An Upside Down Broken Cross To Christ-ians” Or “The Unsightliness And Unseemly Worry Of The Christ-ian Is A Contradiction Against Faith.

“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on [T]hee: BECAUSE he trusteth in [T]hee.  (Isaiah 26)

“Grace and peace be MULTIPLIED unto YOU through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord.”  (2 Peter1)

To meany peace is merely a symbol or sign from the sixties (60’s) and that symbol or sign would be the upside down broken cross. That, in itself, is a fine example of how far this world, this society, and this cult-ure (Cult of (s)atan) has fallen, wandered, gone astray from Scripture. The Word of God says that There is peace between the believer and God, through the Blood of His Cross (Colossians 1:20).

(s)atan is the god of this world and the prince of the power of the air. With that being a fact from Scripture, if one (1) is not in Christ, one (1) is a servant of (s)atan by default. Scripture states that (s)atan can take an unsaved person captive at his will.  The unsaved person is the subject or is in bondage to his own “free will” to sin, and (s)atan.

The unsaved cannot subject himself to God’s will even if he wanted to. The unsaved, the lost, the unregenerate, the wicked, the worker of iniquity is subject to his own ways which lead to destruction; he is subject to the bondage of a sinful and dead spirit; he is subject to (s)atan and is blinded by (s)atan from the truth that is in Christ. Since the unsaved has a dead spirit it leaves a void, a vacuum and it is “being filled with ALL unrighteousness.”

Reader, this is the state of the unsaved; there is no peace to the wicked. They may be comforted by things, but true peace is unknown to the sinner. To the sinner peace is financial security, a safe home, a healthy and happy family, and friends that are like himself. To the sinner that is peace. However, take any one (1) of those things away and their “peace” is gone; they know no peace at all.. The fake peace of the sinner is built upon sinking sand.

Reader, Christ-ian peace is a peace that passeth understanding and explanation.  The Christ-ian’s peace is steadfast and firm in spite of all things.
*Christ-ian peace is Christ sleeping in a ship while the waves and the winds beat against that ship.
*Christ-ian peace is  Paul telling his shipmates all will be well IF they remain in the ship.
*Christ-ian peace is three (3) courageous Jews that defy a great king and are willing to face a fiery furnace as they say Our LORD is able to deliver us O’ king and if not we STILL will not bow to your idol.
*Christ-ian peace is Daniel saying to the great and ferocious lions, “Hush little Kitty Cat.”
*Christ-ian peace is Noah and his family on the ark when total and complete destruction is beating at the door.

Reader,  May I ask you a question?  Do you know peace…real peace, the kind of peace that passeth even your own understanding?  Peace is a gift, a grace, and is the third (3rd) fruit of the Spirit.  Christ said to His own (He own’s you, right…right?) before He leaves them, My Peace, I leave with you. not the world’s peace but My peace do I leave you” [paraphrasing a bit].

God wants His people (You and me and all the rest) to be stabalized, steadfast, confirmed,  and comforted in peace.  This is God’s will for His Children. What father does not want his children to be at peace.

There are different types of peace just like there are different types of sanctification.  If you are saved, if Christ gave Himself for you, there is the STATE of peace between you and the Godhead…you can rightly sing, “It is well with my soul.”  When hardships, difficulties come, you can rest easy as “It is well with your soul.” One may lose everything, be stripped of all things, yet it is well with his soul. Do you understand that dynamick, Reader?

If Christ died for you and was resurreted for you, there is peace and safety between you and the Godhead. However, I’m interested in the peace-filled spirit of the Christ-ian.

Do you know peace? Do you know how to obtain peace?  Are you familiar with a peaceful spirit?  An Analogy:  You are driving and rain is disrupting the drive, it’s so loud. It sounds like someone is on top of your car and beating it. But then you drive under a bridge and there is silence for three (3) seconds. Are you familiar with that?  That is the peace the Christ-ian should have in his spirit.

“And your feet shod with the preparation of the [G]ospel of peace. (Ephesians 6) What doth that mean? We have been prepared with the Gospel or Good News. You may say, Wait! I’m not preprared for this.  If that is the case you are on good ground.

Perfect peace comes with a mind that is stayed on the Godhead. Peace will have it’s way. With a loving affection for Christ and a growing intiment knowledge of Him; (not a knowledge that is dry and dead) you will find grace and peace Multiplied …Multiplied… IF you find Christ; You will know real Christ-ian peace.

Perfect peace is a matured Christ-ian peace. It is a peace that knows and understands that God is the God of the BIG picture and With The God of the BIG picture, all things will work together for good to them  that love God.

As they say, ” Peace …out.”

Godspeed.

“Meditation” Or “Dwelling Upon The Person Of God And The Word Of God” Or “Regurgitating And Chewing The Cud”

“Nevertheless these ye shall not eat of them the chew the cud…”  (Deuteronomy 14)

What does it mean to chew the cud?  Some animal will regurgitate their food and re-chew it and re ingest it. This is called chewing the cud.  Christ-ians should “chew the cud” in that after one (1) reads a passage of Scripture it should be brought back to mind again and again and meditated upon so as to get as much nutrients as possible. The chew the cud is more than mere reading of a text and forgetting what you read.  It is more than studying a passage for a period of time and moving on the something else.

To chew the cud is dwell upon a passage, usually one (1) or two (2) and dwelling upon it’s meaning. One (1) should pray as  one (1) thinks upon these things. Christ said to His disciples, “I have meat and drink ye know not of…”  Christ said, Man” shall not live on bread alone, but by every [W]ord that proceedeth out of the [M]outh of God.  Do you notice, Reader, how Christ likens God’s Word with food?  He also says we should hunger and thirst after righteousness which is  another allusion to feeding.

Meditating upon the Word is a form of worship and time spent with God. How good does it feel when someone comes to you and says, “I was just thinking about something you said yesterday?”  It is encouraging is it not?  There is not a better compliment you could give a pastor than telling him that you were thinking about something he said previously. The same is true of God.

A.W. Pink said many times that the Word of God is not for the lazy man. What a true statement.  Reader, We will be rather blunt at this point.  we have heard many say, “I just can’t understand what I read,”  or “I can’t remember what i read.”  The answer is simple…you give up too easy or you do not spend time thinking about nor dwelling on God’s Word!!!  You are far to busy to dwell upon the things of God. You are far too busy sewing to the flesh and not the spirit. You are far to busy feeding the old man and the old nature than feeding to the man and the new nature. You read a line or two (2) of Scripture and out of the draught it goes!!!

Reader, did the last paragraph offend you?  If so that only proves the matter.  If you though I was rough, what must God think?  I grow frustrated when persons who claim to love God, will not spend time with Him in His Word.  What would you think, how would you feel if you wrote everyday to a beloved only to find out they never bother to open a single note?  You would be offended and maybe even heartbroken and possibly angry.  How do you think God feels…what do you think God thinks about your failure to read His love letters? I think the answer is obvious. God is most unpleased.

What do you think the men and women who lost heir earthly lives in making sure God’s Word survived the onslaught of (s)atan and his servants.  Do you know that countless men and women died violently as they sought to insure the Word of god found a home? Yet you rather send time with carnal tripe?  Doth this offend?  Very well and very good. If you do not see fit to spend valuable time upon God’s word and with God, why should He bless you and answer your prayers?  Why? Why? Why?

“For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.                                                                                                                                              (Roman 8:6)
We need not exposit the meaning of this verse from Romans 8. It is obvious in it’s meaning. However, we will apply it to our subject at hand. Meditating on God, God’s Word, God’s Works, and God’s Ways is how you can develop spiritual mindedness. Allow me to ask you a question that will say much to you. What else is worthy of your concentration?  I fully understand that we have to think about many things during the day, that is life in the world, but to set aside time to meditate upon the Scriptures is life in the Word.  When you are driving or lying in bed, you cannot do know better than “think upon these things,”  “chew the cud,”  be like David and meditate night and day upon God and His Person, and His Word, you can not please God more than to actively dwell upon Him.

How do you feel or do you remember how it felt when a girl/boyfriend gave you a note or told you that you were thought about?  We are made in God’s Image; God loves when we think upon Him, upon His Holiness, His Righteousness, His GOoDness, His Grace, His Mercy, His Sovereignty, His Power, His Authority, His Majesty, His Great Love wherewith He loves us, His Anger, His Wrath…think upon His Many Attributes. Pink and Tozer  write on the Attributes or Traits of God.

It has been said we should avoid the topics of politics and religion when we are in the company of family and friends.  G.K.  Chesterton, commenting on that thought said, “What else is there to talk about?” I agree with him.  I am not a person given to small talk, I want to talk about that which will edify (build up) and benefit others and myself.  Sitting with my father-in-law or pastor friends and speaking on Christ and all things God is a spiritual high, it is champagne to the soul. Sitting and reading the Word of God and meditating upon that which we read is the same.

“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on [T]hee: because he trusteth in [T]hee.  Is peace an elusive animal to you?  Do you see it out of the corner of your eye just to see it disappear when you turn your head? Peace is a gift the Resurrected and Ascended Christ left us.  It is the will of God that we enJOY inner peace; the peace that passeth all understanding. Reader, Peace will be had by those that meditate upon God and all that is God.

Meditation is a type of fellowship with the Holy Spirit.  When you meditate upon God and His Word, the Spirit is there with you, helping and guiding your thoughts.  He will bring other passages and other glories of God to your mind.  He will help you develop a cross referencing system in your mind.  You can develop a chain reference system; you might be dwelling upon one (1) passage or even one (1) word, or one (1) doctrine and your mind…your spiritual mind (Romans 8:6) will begin to recall other passages to mind.

In Jiu Jitsu and catch wrestling there is something called chain wrestling or grappling. A skilled grappler can move from one (1) hold or lock to another in quick succession. This writer, as he has been trained by good Christ-ian brothers, is able to begin at an opponents neck and move to the shoulder > elbow > wrist > arm > hips > knees > legs > ankles > back to the neck > and then begin working on joints , pressure points, and the face.  This is analogous to Biblical chain referencing.  While chain wrestling is good, it “profiteth thee little” when compared to a chain reference system in your mind.

Reader, I cannot encourage thee enough to meditate upon God and His Word.  Start with a short passage or verse, think upon each word in that verse, dwell upon the meaning of each word and how it fits in with the next word. Think about the meaning of your chosen verse. Try and cross reference your verse with another verse or another thought. Ask yourself how this verse applies to you, and how you can apply it to daily life. Pray while meditating, asking God to illuminate your spiritual mind.

Meditation is a means to developing a spiritual mindedness, to fellowshiping with God, to gaining insight to spiritual matters, to learning and understanding God’s Word.  Meditating is a form of worship. Meditation will help you train your mind as well; it can help you bring emotions and thoughts under control and under the obedience of Christ. Meditating is a kin to fasting from the world.

If my arguments above are not strong enough to cause you to consider meditation, let me give you one (1) more….God wants you to and commands you to period. Meditation is feeding the spiritual nature and denying the carnal.

Godspeed.
